FLYING M RANCH Heber Springs, Arkansas ROOTED IN FAITH! GROWING WITH PURPOSE! For the past seven years, Flying M Ranch has been 100% dedicated to Regenerative Farming. It has put the “Fun” back in farming for my boys and I. First, we let our pastures rest for three years after to many years of over grazing and baling hay. Summer and Winter cover crops were planted to increase soil health. For weed control, we applied Katahdin Hair Sheep. Weeds are not a problem on our farm. We considering them food. South polls steers were added next, for finishing beef and pasture management. Rotational grazing is an amazing tool. We mineralize some pastures that still need a little bit of a push. Redmond Clay and Salt have been great for increasing soil health on the poor areas. Our animals get these products free choice everyday. Our family uses it daily, also. Our best seller is our 90 day Organic Grain fed South Poll Steers. They are grass fed till slaughter at 29 months old. We sell Redmond Agriculture and Life Products. Mined in Redmond, Utah. Arkansas Rural Endowment Fund (AREF)
The Arkansas Rural Endowment Fund (AREF) emerged from its parent organization, the Arkansas Rural Rehabilitation Corporation (ARRC). In 1933, the ARRC was created by the United States Congress as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s “New Deal” efforts to lift the country out of the depression by making agricultural loans to farmers. By 1950, most agricultural loans were distributed and administered through the US Department of Agriculture. Congress then entered into a trust agreement to return the assets and administration of ARRC back to the State of Arkansas. With the passage of Act 27 in 1959, the Arkansas General Assembly created AREF as a private, nonprofit entity with the sole purpose of making affordable loans to rural Arkansans. Since that time, AREF has helped thousands of Arkansans attain higher education to pursue their dreams, and many of our borrowers have gone on to achieve greatness, even including an Arkansas governor. https://aref.org/

Tallow Created by Courtney
✨Hi, friends! My name is Courtney. I’m a Christian, mom, fire wife and registered nurse! After having and later weaning my last baby, my skin was STRUGGLING and the baby was dealing with eczema. While on a mission to clean up our household products, I discovered tallow. Tallow not only helped my skin SO much, it got rid of her eczema and has healed so many of my friends/family’s skin issues, too! Making tallow creams for us, my friends and family quickly grew into this thriving little business! People are trying and loving tallow! This led to me trying my hand at tallow makeup and now all kinds of non toxic cosmetics! ALL of my products are handmade by me to ensure clean, quality products. My products that are tallow based are made with 100% grass fed/finished beef suet. Tallow is not only, truly, God and nature’s skincare, but it’s SO good for your skin! Here’s to nourishing our skin and saying BYEEE to toxic products (but still keeping it cute and fun)! 🥂

Nectar Honey & Herb,
Behind the Hive Welcome to Nectar Honey & Herb, where nature meets wellness! We’re a small, family-owned apiary and apothecary passionate about the healing power of honey and herbs. Our journey began with a simple belief: nature provides everything we need to nourish our bodies, minds, and spirits. At Nectar, we specialize in creating raw, natural products that honor traditional practices while embracing sustainable, earth-friendly values. From infused honeys to herbal teas, oxymels to tinctures, everything we craft is designed to support your health and well-being—naturally and organically. Through workshops, classes, and educational resources, we also share our knowledge to help others discover the healing properties of honey and herbs. Whether you’re joining us online or in person, we’re here to inspire your journey toward natural wellness. NUTRITIONAL Honey is a natural sweetener packed with antioxidants, which help combat free radicals and support overall health. It also contains trace amounts of vitamins and minerals like potassium, magnesium, and calcium, contributing to electrolyte balance and bone health. ALLERGIES Local honey may help with seasonal allergies by exposing your body to trace amounts of the same pollen that triggers allergic reactions, potentially building tolerance over time. This natural exposure acts similarly to allergen immunotherapy, though on a much smaller scale. IMMUNNITY Honey supports immunity with its natural antibacterial and antiviral properties, helping the body fight off infections. Rich in antioxidants, it combats oxidative stress and promotes cellular health. Its soothing effects also aid in calming inflammation. HEALING Honey is a natural healer with antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that can help clean and protect wounds, promoting faster recovery. Its soothing qualities calm inflammation and irritation, making it effective for relieving sore throats and minor burns. Packed with antioxidants, honey also supports cellular repair and overall wellness. ANTIBACTERIAL & ANTIFUNGAL Honey's natural antibacterial properties stem from its low moisture content and production of hydrogen peroxide, creating an environment that inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria. Its antifungal properties make it effective against certain yeast and fungi, supporting skin health and wound care. COGNITIVE BENEFITS Honey supports cognitive health by providing a natural source of glucose, which fuels brain function and enhances mental clarity. Its rich antioxidant content protects brain cells from oxidative stress, promoting long-term neural health. Additionally, honey's anti-inflammatory properties may help reduce inflammation in the brain, supporting memory and focus.

Fire Fast
At Fire-Fast, our aim is to provide a superior fire starting tool that can be used by just about anyone. Its true that other fire starters can light fires, but most require very strong pressure to create enough sparks to ignite a fire. The Fire-Fast Trekker will generate a large shower of sparks with minimal effort. This means that almost anyone you entrust to light a fire will be able to do so. 🔥 About Fire-Fast: Handmade Waterproof Fire Starters by an American Family At Fire-Fast, we're a husband-and-wife team (Peter and Vera) crafting reliable survival gear right here in sunny Florida. What started as our own frustration with finicky fire starters on camping trips evolved into a passion: Building tools that make fire-starting dead simple, even in the worst conditions. Every piece—like our Trekker Waterproof Fire Starter—is hand-inspected and made with premium Austrian ferrocerium (a 120-year-old formula that's weather-proof and throws 5,500°F sparks). No cheap imports, no hype—just gear we bet our own adventures on. Our breakthrough? Partnering with *Naked and Afraid* after 13 years and 200+ episodes of survivalists struggling with subpar rods. Sunny took the Trekker to Colombia in Season 17, impressing Executive Producer David Story: "Over 13 years and 200 episodes... The Trekker gives survivalists a fighting chance—every time." We started supplying them via Amazon last year, and eight months ago, signed on as their official fire starter. Why choose Fire-Fast? - **USA-Made Quality**: Lifetime replacement for defects—we personally make and test each one. - **Real-World Tested**: From monsoons to blizzards, it works when soaked (we submerge-test every rod for 4 days!). - **Beginner-Friendly**: Huge sparks with normal pressure—no "ninja techniques" needed. (Pro tip: Pair with our $0.99 Pencil Sharpener for instant dry tinder.) "In real-life survival, seconds count. You need gear you trust—Fire-Fast delivers." —Dan Lisk, Canadian Forces Veteran & Great Ape Empire Owner Fire starting used to be a tough skill to learn. We've made it easy. Milk and Honey Hill Farm
Clint and Joy Ballard are passionate homesteaders, entrepreneurs, and parents of five who have built a thriving 40-acre family farm in New Blaine, Arkansas, through intentional teamwork, complementary skills, and a shared commitment to self-reliance and real food.Ten years ago, the Ballards traded an intensive urban homestead—packed with raised beds, bees, rabbits, chickens, fruit trees, and the occasional “illegal” goat—for a slower, more purposeful country life. Raised on a 165-acre Missouri farm where he milked cows and tended a small herd with his father and brothers, Clint brought deep agricultural roots to the move. After retiring from 21 years in the U.S. Army, he embraced the physical rhythms and purpose of full-time farming. His degree in construction engineering has been essential in building the farm’s infrastructure from the ground up.The Ballards’ operation thrives on partnership: Clint expertly tends the animals, milks the 12-cow herd, manages their care, and oversees the large family garden. Joy, a nurse and masterful artisan in the kitchen, transforms that milk into approximately 500 pounds of artisanal cheese each year, along with other dairy products. Together they supply fresh milk, cheese, and eggs to 150 local families weekly. The homestead also features an expanding elderberry patch and growing fruit orchard.Dedicated to raising resilient children and empowering others, the couple weaves animal chores and gardening into family life to teach responsibility, purpose, and reward. They are growing their on-farm classes to show people how to maximize any space—from backyard chickens to full homesteads. At the conference, Joy will teach cheesemaking, elderberry propagation, and elderberry syrup making, while Clint will share practical guidance on establishing and managing a successful homestead dairy operation.

Tony & LeVonna Uekman
Tony and LeVonna Uekman operate a beef cattle operation in Quitman, Arkansas. They purchased their farm in 1995 and mistakenly leased it out for hay. LeVonna attended a Missouri Grazing School shortly after, and was the one who was committed to trying rotational grazing on their farm. Tony was reluctant at first but quickly saw the benefits of subdividing and rotating. They began by grazing stocker cattle on contract and enjoyed years of success. They were featured in a SSAWG video in 2012 about managed intensive grazing of beef cattle, and have continued since then to refine their grazing and water system. Both are recently retired from USDA- Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Tony specializes in water systems and is very generous in helping consult with others. He understands the engineering, NRCS specifications and programs, the materials, and the needs of cattle. As long-time graziers and mentors for others, they bring a love for the land and the people who manage it, along with a deep knowledge of how to set up an effective system. Their farm has served as a great model and location for educational events. Currently, they have a cow-calf operation and direct market grass finished beef.

BlueBird Ranch
After many many years in The Corporate World we retired and moved (along with our erstwhile wife JoAnn) to rural Arkansas (Faulkner County) to breed Arabian horses and as a sideline we also planted a small vineyard. We had gotten to know about vineyards and winemaking by completing the Viticulture and winemaking programs at Texas Tech and getting hands-on experience volunteering at various Texas wineries. We soon discovered that the vineyard and winemaking was actually more interesting than the horse breeding and consequently we went pro in the winery biz. We established the Bluebird Ranch Winery in 2021. We've expanded our original "pilot" vineyard to 3 acres in which we grow the Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Albarino, Chambourcin, and Traminette varieties. We also purchase some grapes from our partner in Huntsville Arkansas. We are unique in this state for two reasons: (1) we use 100% Arkansas grown grapes, and (2) we are the only winery in the state that grows Vinifera (Old World) grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Albarino. Our goal is to produce local wines whose quality rivals wines from around the world. We strongly believe the old saying that "the best wine is made in the vineyard"and don't use any additives.

Shona Jordan-Hide Tanning
Britt Talent-Cleveland County Herald
Tanning hides is the process of converting raw animal skins into durable, flexible leather or fur through cleaning, pickling, and applying tanning agents like aluminum sulfate, acids, or brains. Key steps include fleshing, salting, pickling, tanning, oiling, and breaking the fibers, which takes days to weeks depending on the method. Tanned hides are used for clothing, rugs, and gear.
Cleveland County Herald In 1888, George H. Tisdale started the Cleveland County Herald at Rison (Cleveland County). It was a Democratic paper published on Thursdays. Sallie Irene Robinson worked briefly as editor for Tisdale and, by 1893, had purchased the paper. The Herald is the longest-running newspaper in Cleveland County. Robinson learned the newspaper business from her uncle, Leon Roussan, who ran the Osceola Times (1870–) in Osceola (Mississippi County). Robinson moved to Rison in 1892 or 1893 and quickly took over the Herald. In 1895, she married lawyer William Joseph (Billie) Stanfield, becoming Sallie Robinson-Stanfield. She is the first recorded woman in Arkansas to hyphenate her last name after marriage. Together, they had five children, and Robinson-Stanfield taught them all the newspaper business. In 1897, Stanfield took over managing the newspaper while Robinson-Stanfield focused on raising their children. In 1906, Stanfield died suddenly, likely from tuberculosis. Robinson-Stanfield briefly resumed running the Herald before selling it to James Monroe Raines. Raines leased the paper to various editors. In 1912, Sallie Robinson-Stanfield bought the paper back and again worked as manager and editor. In 1915, she married John Clayton Riley, editor of the Blade (which ceased publication in 1929) in Walnut Ridge (Lawrence County). At this point, she changed her name to Sallie Riley. She sold the paper for a final time to Henry Burgess Dixon Sr. in 1915 and moved to Walnut Ridge. Dixon ran the Herald for a few years but died in the 1918 influenza pandemic. Annie L. Hughes Dixon, his widow, sold the paper to local businessmen, who published the paper under the News Publishing Company. Ethel M. Sumerow worked as editor until her death in 1922. Sallie Riley’s son Calvin Alpheus Stanfield ran the paper for a year before selling it to Guy Mack Sadler and Harold Davis Sadler in 1923. The Sadlers sold their interest to Leland Callaway Ackerman by 1929, but in 1933 Guy Sadler bought the paper back. The Sadler family—Guy Sadler, William (Bill) Sadler, and Stan Sadler—ran the Herald until 2002, when they sold it to Britt Talent. Talent runs the paper as publisher and editor, with Stan Sadler staying on as editor for one of the weekly pages.
